The 2011 Ford Explorer will likely be built in Chicago at the same factory currently producing the Taurus X, supporting the conventional wisdom that the new Explorer is going car-based.
The FG-series FPV lineup is quite exciting. You have the usual F6 sedan and ute and the GT / GT-P / GT E sedan and Pursuit / Super Pursuit utes. We even now have the F6X Territory. Now if we go back to the GT range we see the “GT E”. This GT is a step above the rest in the matter of luxury. Sure, it still has the 315kW BOSS V8, but the suspension and interior alike have been ‘luxurised’ for a more smoother ride and handling. Ford has lacked this from the F6 side, so what to do come Melbourne International Motor Show time? I know! Make an F6 E “concept”.
Well well well… What do we have here Ford? Some (sadly toned down) production versions of the Ranger MAX concept? Sure looks like it – or are they the updated model? More than likely. What ever the case, these Australia-bound(? – TBC) Rangers look pretty shmick!
The LA Auto Show is over now, with the main attraction the new-for-’09 Mustang (MY10). But amidst the hullabalah around this fantastic machine, reports have come out that Ford are using the 2010 Mustang’s publicity wave to the max. Cue rumourmill:
“… And in other news today, car designer Fabrizio Giugiaro, creator of the fabulous Giugiaro Mustang concept of 2006, has been charged for indecent behaviour in public after showing off sex on wheels today – whilst smoking.” That’s what the report would say if it were on the news!
“AACHEN, Germany, October, 2008 – A century after the Model T put the world on wheels, Ford Motor Company has announced the winners of a four-month competition that challenged five universities from around the world to create a revolutionary vehicle concept for the 21st century.
Thanks to our friends over at Autoblog, we have some scoop pics of Galpin Auto Sports’s new SEMA concept – the Ford “Project B”. Based on the current Mustang platform, the “Project B” is powered by a stroked 4.6L (now 5.0L) Mustang V8, which is gloriously twin-supercharged… Sounds great! More info after the jump…
BUSTED!!! Carrying out hot weather testing in North America, CarAdvice.com.au’s US spy photographer has snapped up some great spy shots of Ford’s upcoming small sedan – the Fiesta Sedan. Although it was originally only a concept, the Verve Sedan is now becoming a reality! Lets hope it carries a lot of the concepts features!
