According to PickupTrucks.com sources, Ford is planning big changes to the F-150’s powertrain lineup in 2010 for the 2011 model year, focused on giving buyers more power and greater efficiency.
The current F-150 offers a choice of either a base two-valve or an advanced three-valve 4.6 litre V8, or a top-of-the-line three-valve 5.4 litre V8. The old entry-level 4.2 litre V6 was dropped for 2009.

January 9, 2009The MY09 Ford F-150 is arguably the best pick-up for sale in the USA right now – it has to be to sell with the competition getting more fierce lately. It has collected a tray full (which is a lot in the F-150’s case) of awards from some of America’s most prestigious groups – cementing the F-150’s business case as ‘Serious’. Ford can now add another award to the long list – a 5-star safety rating from the Insurance Institute For Highway Safety (IIHS).
1st 2010 Shelby GT500 being auctioned off…
January 1, 2009As has become the tradition in recent years, Barrett-Jackson will be auctioning off various “firsts” of upcoming production cars. Last year, the very first Corvette ZR1, Dodge Challenger, and Shelby GT500KR all went across the block, and earlier this month it was announced that the first retail 2010 Camaro would be available to the highest bidder. Not to be outdone, Ford has announced that a trio of their new offerings will be up for auction,
the highlights of which will be the very first 2010 Mustang GT and Shelby GT500. This announcement all but confirms that the car will make its debut a few days earlier in Detroit. Also up for grabs will be the first 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. Proceeds for the auctions will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, providing more justification for collectors to bid on the vehicles.
