Ford Australia has confirmed it is staying in the V8 business beyond the life of the current 5.4-litre Boss engine. And the favourite to take over from the ageing Boss is an aluminium double overhead cam 5.0-litre codenamed ‘Coyote’ that is currently under development in the USA with baseline outputs reported to be around 300kW and 540Nm.

Remember the ‘Coyote’ V8 project of Fords’ we reported to you a few days ago? Well, as PickUpTrucks.com said, “We weren’t crying Wolf!”. Spotted in a Mustang mule the conclusion is made is that through even rumor, speculation & this spy shot, we think this engine is going to be a cracker!

Ford flyers Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup became the first men in 24 years to win a hat-trick of Bathurst 1000 titles with a near-flawless drive at Mount Panorama yesterday (12th October 2008).
The Triple Eight Racing duo equalled the all-time record for successive triumphs, joining motorsport legends Peter Brock, Jim Richards and Larry Perkins on three.

Ford Australia’s renowned tuning arm – Ford Performance Vehicles, or FPV – is celebrating it’s 5th birthday this year & in order to celebrate, FPV has announced that it will build a special model to commemorate this milestone – which is a feat in itself considering the current move away from performance vehicles due rising petrol prices etc. This special model will be revealed at the 2008 AIMS (Australian International Motor Show in Sydney in October.
