For the better part of a year, our spies have seen Explorer mules wearing Taurus X and Flex body panels running all over the country. After months of hunting, they’ve finally caught up with the real thing – and we have the first, exclusive photos.
Here are spy photos showing Ford’s US-bound Fiesta sedan doing cold weather testing in the north of Michigan. Note the widened lower front grille – presumably for US crash testing result enhancement.
Thanks to our friends at BringBackTheSHO.com, we now have more evidence than ever that the SHO will rise again. These spy shots show a pair of serious looking Taurus sedans snapped along the I-75 corridor in Florida. These two sedans are different from the Limited and SES models we saw at the Detroit Auto Show last week, wearing new wheels (at least 19 or 20 inches in diameter), a decklid spoiler, different tail-lights and a new rear bumper that extends lower over a pair of dual tail-pipes.
Well well well… What do we have here Ford? Some (sadly toned down) production versions of the Ranger MAX concept? Sure looks like it – or are they the updated model? More than likely. What ever the case, these Australia-bound(? – TBC) Rangers look pretty shmick!
These exclusive first shots of a SHO-badged dashboard in testing outside an unknown location are the first piece of evidence portending the reawakening of the Ford Taurus SHO with the 2010 Ford Taurus. We don’t have any details besides these shots of a dashboard emblazoned with a SHO trim level moniker.
And doesn’t it look like a BBBIIIGGG improvement over the current model! I know, I know – words are boring! So here are the spy shots…

Our (Autoblog’s) spy photographers have noticed a test mule running around Detroit, and we agree with their guess that it’s the upcoming reinvention of the Ford Explorer on a unibody platform. Since its inception, the Explorer has been a true SUV built on a sturdy truck frame, but the market has turned its back on traditional SUVs, so Ford came up with the Explorer America concept that debuted at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The concept previews the vehicle you see here, though current mules for the production version are cobbled together with bits of Taurus X and Flex body panels.

Our (LeftLaneNew.com’s) spy photographers nabbed Ford’s (or rather Lincoln’s – ed) MKT crossover just hours ago – and they were able to grab one of the first shots of the MKT’s EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine. The MKT will be one of the first Ford vehicles to get the highly-anticipated engine, though judging by the stylized “T” and “F” on the plastic cover, it looks like Ford is planning to keep the Twin Force moniker for its upscale Lincoln brand – instead of EcoBoost, which it will use on Ford division products.
