Ford Australia axes the Falcon Wagon…

Ford Australia announced today that it will discontinue the Falcon wagon this year, with the last wagon to roll off the line in June.

The news follows reports last year that Ford was considering the wagon’s future, Ford Australia CEO Marin Burela confirming that a decision would be made by this past January.

Geneva 2010: 2012 Focus Estate unveiled…

Back when Ford announced that at least 10 vehicles will make use of Ford’s new C-segment platform, we all got thinking of what possible models there will be. Well, to stop 50% of the guessing, there are now 5 confirmed cars: the 2012 Focus hatch and sedan, C-Max and Grand C-Max and now, the new Focus Estate… or wagon depending where you come from.

Next-gen Focus out testing already…

Ford has started to run some test mules for its next generation Focus, spotted this first time around in both sedan and wagon variants. While we are certainly excited to see a load-lugging Focus being tested out, we’re not going to hold our breath that Ford has plans to bring the wagon version to North America for the first time since the first-generation car.

Ford Fiesta – What Car? Magazine car of the year…

In another sign of good things to come from Ford later this year, the company’s new Fiesta has just won a Car of the Year award from What Car? magazine in the UK. Specifically, the Fiesta 1.25i Zetec was selected by the publication’s editors.

Weird & wonderful Muzzie conversions…

Mustang wagons have long been part of ponycar folklore. Some customs exist, but a factory-built first-generation Mustang shooting brake still appears to be mythology. Our friends at Hemmings have turned up some very nicely done cars that individuals have put together, a particularly fetching blue one has a very well thought out roofline and rear hatch.
