Ford introducing “MyKey” system in 2010…

October 7, 2008

Ford will be introducing a new program which will be introduced on the MY10 Focus, called “MyKey”. This is a programmable key that will allow parents to pre-set (& accordingly adjust) speed and audio controls for their younger drivers. This program will also feature on a number of other Ford PAG products.

Parents can program the key through the vehicle’s message center trip computer. There are several different options and levels of control that include seat belt reminders (such as a radio that stays on mute until the belt is buckled), top speed limiters, speed warning chimes at preset intervals, radio sound set to a maximum output of 44 percent and disabling deactivation of safety aids such as traction control, parking aids and blind spot assistance.
