Ford have finally announced some technical details regarding the new 2012 Focus – for at least one powertrain anyway. The new base model (‘S’ in the U.S.) will feature a new 2.0 Litre I4 engine that makes a healthy 119kW (160hp) and 198Nm all the while achieving a yet to be EPA tested 40mpg (5.8l/100km). This is, of course, when paired with the PowerShift dual clutch transmission. Those are some pretty awesome numbers right there!
After what has seemed an eternity, Ford has finally unveiled the new 2011 Ranger at the Australian International Motorshow in Sydney this morning. Boasting a new robust exterior, in design and application, as well as a interior you could forgive as a family car, the new Ranger certainly hopes to get tradies into some serious vehicles, rather than the boring workhorses we have currently. Couple that with new high-power, low emission engines and you certainly have a world class ute – designed in Australia!
Every year, Ford chooses one of its models to be the theme of SEMA for FoMoCo displays – and this year, the new Fiesta gets the nod. There are going to be plenty of examples of tuned up Fiestas and even one from Ford themselves – a Ford Racing concept with a hotted-up 2.0L EcoBoost four (bored to 2.3L) with a monumental 350hp, or 260kW! Now that would be a rocket!
