Ford have issued a press release announcing that by 2012 Ford’s ‘Auto Stop-Start’ technology (that automatically shuts down the engine from idle and turns back on when the brake is depressed) will become available to non-hybrid vehicles as well. Ford has said that on these ‘conventional’ vehicles with petrol drivetrains, city gains of up to 10% have been seen.

CarAdvice.com.au have obtained some spy shots that virtually reveal the whole exterior of the new Ford Territory which goes on sale in Australia and New Zealand next year. With a new corporate face and refreshed sides and rear, the new Territory should easily pass off as a new car to the general buyer. No interior shots were taken (or just aren’t posted yet), but after the jump CarAdvice.com.au’s resident stylist has done some very exciting looking CGI’s.
In what was something out of the blue, Ford have released official sketches of what the new mid-cycle refreshed Territory will look like which goes on sale mid-late next year. Using some features of the Kinetic design language yet unseen on a Ford, the new Territory certainly has a fresh look over the current ‘SY MkII’ model currently on sale in Australia and New Zealand.
