Ford Release Official Sketches of 2011 Territory…

December 15, 2010

In what was something out of the blue, Ford have released official sketches of what the new mid-cycle refreshed Territory will look like which goes on sale mid-late next year. Using some features of the Kinetic design language yet unseen on a Ford, the new Territory certainly has a fresh look over the current ‘SY MkII’ model currently on sale in Australia and New Zealand.

And for those of you who might be skeptic about this sketch, this appeared on Ford Australia’s website the same day:

The 4.0L inline 6 cylinder found in the current model (‘SY’) and Falcon will continue on with this new model, while a new 2.7L turbo-diesel V6 will debut in the considerably refreshed Territory. In its original Land Rover guise, the 2.7L V6 makes 140kW and 445Nm. The new Territory is also boasting higher towing capacities (2500 + kg) whilst also returning lower fuel consumption – with both engines being mated to a ZF 6 speed automatic transmission. Drive will go to the rear wheels while AWD models will be available as with the SY

Back to the design, the front appears to have taken on a style seen only before on the iosis MAX concept from last year:

There are no more details to share at the moment, but you can be sure that they’ll be here the minute they are announced!
