Ford has upped the ante on it’s 2013 model year Explorer SUV with some small updates across the entire range but most significantly a new model joins the line-up – the Explorer Sport.

For the 2012 model year, Ford has added a new efficient engine to the Explorer range for those customers who need the convenience of an SUV but don’t want associated the fuel costs. As well as the existing 3.5 litre V6, a 2.0 litre EcoBoost 4 cylinder engine can be had with your FWD model of choice.
The all-new Ford Explorer is more than just the new fuel economy class leader in the midsize SUV segment. The reinvented Explorer, which arrives later this year, also sets a new benchmark for sustainability in the SUV segment due to an increased use of renewable and recycled content, such as parts made from steel left over from F-150 production.
We’ve been waiting just short of forever for this, but finally, the 2011 Ford Explorer has been unveiled. This all-new model is Ford’s take on a 21st century SUV, started from a clean slate based on the popular Taurus / Flex platform. It combines efficient, but powerful engines, new Ford technologies – like rear seat belt airbags and Curve Control and a high quality interior and exterior to create the next best seller from Ford.
