Ford has taken the covers off it’s new hot-hatch, the Ford Focus ST. This time around, though, it is the full production version, so this is what you will see in your nearest Ford showroom when it goes on sale in 2012.

The Ford Mondeo has been on sale in Australia for 2 years now – the wagon for only one. In that time it has won many awards with the Australian motoring journalist fraternity – especially the turbo diesel ‘TDCi’ variants for their frugality. But what they didn’t see coming was this – the updates for 2011 due here third quarter…
Ford Australia announced today that it will discontinue the Falcon wagon this year, with the last wagon to roll off the line in June.
The news follows reports last year that Ford was considering the wagon’s future, Ford Australia CEO Marin Burela confirming that a decision would be made by this past January.
Back when Ford announced that at least 10 vehicles will make use of Ford’s new C-segment platform, we all got thinking of what possible models there will be. Well, to stop 50% of the guessing, there are now 5 confirmed cars: the 2012 Focus hatch and sedan, C-Max and Grand C-Max and now, the new Focus Estate… or wagon depending where you come from.

Ford has started to run some test mules for its next generation Focus, spotted this first time around in both sedan and wagon variants. While we are certainly excited to see a load-lugging Focus being tested out, we’re not going to hold our breath that Ford has plans to bring the wagon version to North America for the first time since the first-generation car.
