Ford Flex flopping?

Ford was hoping that its squared-off new crossover, the Flex, would be a runaway success in the vein of the 1986 Taurus. The Flex, which vaguely resembles the box that the aerodynamic Taurus came in, has seen falling sales in the last two months – not a good sign for a vehicle that has been on the market for four months.

Ford introducing “MyKey” system in 2010…

Ford will be introducing a new program which will be introduced on the MY10 Focus, called “MyKey”. This is a programmable key that will allow parents to pre-set (& accordingly adjust) speed and audio controls for their younger drivers. This program will also feature on a number of other Ford PAG products.

Ford shares dropping – hits lowest ever point…

While few companies have been spared as the stock market tanks in the United States today, Ford Motor Company’s shares seem to have been hit the hardest – so far. In early trading today, Ford’s stock hit its lowest point since the early 1980s (on an adjusted basis) – just over $3.30.

2010 Lincoln Flex-based MKT spied…

Our (LeftLaneNew.com’s) spy photographers nabbed Ford’s (or rather Lincoln’s – ed) MKT crossover just hours ago – and they were able to grab one of the first shots of the MKT’s EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine. The MKT will be one of the first Ford vehicles to get the highly-anticipated engine, though judging by the stylized “T” and “F” on the plastic cover, it looks like Ford is planning to keep the Twin Force moniker for its upscale Lincoln brand – instead of EcoBoost, which it will use on Ford division products.

Ford recieving $10mill for plug-in hybrids…

Ford Motor Company is set to receive a $10 million grant from the United States Department of Energy to be spent on plug-in hybrid research and development. The government is funding half of Ford’s three-year plug-in development and demonstration program that currently has 20 plug-in hybrid vehicles on test. Read the rest of this entry ?

2009 F-150 launch pulled back…

Ford announced earlier this winter that it would delay the launch of its ultra-important F-150 full-size truck by a few months to help dealers clear out left over 2008 inventory.

For the record, the new truck’s launch was originally scheduled for October before being moved to December. Finally, Ford has split the difference and will begin marketing its F-150 in November. Read the rest of this entry ?

Spied: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO/ST

This week we caught several clear photos of Ford’s high performance Taurus prototypes and we caught them not far from Ford’s headquarters! Although it’s wrapped in camouflage, there is no mistaking as to what this is. Photos of a clay version leaked months ago, proving this is the real thing.
